White Sapote
Redland
History
A named selection originally cultivated in South Florida's Redland agricultural area.
Taste profile
Generally described as sweet and creamy with tropical hints of banana, vanilla, or peach - worth noting that opinions on this particular variety vary more than most; at least one experienced grower has described a batch as having an unpleasant medicinal note, so fruit quality may vary more tree to tree than with other selections.
Growing habits
Standard white sapote care.
Shipping
Does not ship well. Very soft when ripe. White sapote seeds are toxic and should never be eaten.
