A Morus alba x Morus rubra hybrid developed in Naples, Florida, combining the cold-hardiness of red mulberry with the productive fruiting of white mulberry.
Taste profile
Sweet-tart and richly aromatic, in a fruit that's notably large for a mulberry - long, black, and raspberry-like in shape.
Growing habits
Vigorous and fast-growing, reaching roughly 20 feet at maturity. Notably precocious, often producing meaningful crops within just a year or two of planting, even in containers. Ripens over an extended window from spring into summer. Self-pollinating.
Shipping
Does not ship well. Like most mulberries, very soft and perishable - best treated as an eat-fresh-or-preserve fruit, not one to store or ship.
