From Gary Zill's breeding program, planting name O-2, a Kent seedling with Gary believed to be the pollinating parent - first released to the public in 2013. Sibling to Orange Essence, Gold Nugget, Young, and Jakarta.
Taste profile
Rich, complex flavor with genuine cinnamon-and-peach character plus bright citrus and tangerine notes - orange, fiberless flesh with a melting texture.
Growing habits
A vigorous tree with a large, spreading canopy. Mid-to-late season, July into August. The fruit stays mostly green even at full ripeness, making harvest timing genuinely tricky compared to varieties that color up. Best eaten quickly once ripe - quality drops fast if it sits.
Shipping
Does not ship well. Short shelf life once ripe; the flavor and texture decline quickly if not eaten promptly.
