From Gary Zill's breeding program, a seedling of Lemon Meringue and sibling to Lemon Zest. Worth knowing as a grower: there's long-running confusion in the collector community about this variety, with credible reports that "true" Orange Sherbet trees were never actually released commercially - most material sold under the name over the years has reportedly turned out to be Lemon Zest instead.
Taste profile
Tastes remarkably like its namesake dessert - a rich, sweet, citrus-candy flavor often compared to an orange creamsicle, in smooth, fiberless, juicy flesh.
Growing habits
A moderately vigorous tree that produces well, with good resistance to bacterial black spot and anthracnose. Given the naming confusion in the trade, don't be surprised if a tree sold as "Orange Sherbet" turns out to taste identical to Lemon Zest.
