History
A Florida selection from Gary Zill's breeding program, a seedling of the Burmese variety Po Pyu Kalay. It later became the parent of two other well-known Zill cultivars: Lemon Zest and Orange Sherbet.
Taste profile
Bright orange, mostly fiberless flesh with a pronounced citrusy, lemony flavor, floral aromatics, and a creamy, dessert-like texture - smaller and slightly milder than its offspring Lemon Zest.
Growing habits
A compact, semi-dwarf tree well suited to home gardens and containers - one of the more manageable trees among the citrus-flavored Zill mangoes.
