South Florida Backyard Nectar

Mango

Ice Cream

History

One of the most popular dwarf "condo" mangoes in cultivation, though its exact origin is debated between accounts placing it in Trinidad and others tracing it to South India.

Taste profile

Sweet, rich, and fiberless with a flavor and texture genuinely reminiscent of mango sorbet - small, green-skinned fruit with pale yellow flesh.

Growing habits

A true dwarf, easily kept at just six feet, making it one of the best mango options for containers or very small yards. Ripens in July. Tends to do better in drier, more arid conditions than Florida's humid interior.
