From Gary Zill's breeding program in Boynton Beach, a seedling of Zill-80 (itself a Kent descendant), with the Jakarta mango believed to be the pollinating parent.
Taste profile
A complex, layered tropical flavor true to its name - notes of lemon, pineapple, green grape, and berry alongside classic mango sweetness, in firm, juicy, fiberless yellow-orange flesh under a red-blushed skin.
Growing habits
A moderately vigorous tree with an upright, open canopy, less sprawling than Kent and manageable at 10-20 feet with annual pruning; not suited to long-term container growing. Mid-to-late season, typically July into August. Somewhat susceptible to bacterial black spot and fruit rot in wet conditions, so good airflow and sanitation help.
