Atemoya
Lisa
History
Bred in Florida by Annona specialist Har Mahdeem in 1996, a cross of the 'Libby' cherimoya and the 'Red sugar' sugar apple.
Taste profile
Sweet with a distinct berry character, often described as blending summer berries with banana and pineapple - creamy, smooth flesh with a low seed count.
Growing habits
A vigorous tree, reaching 20-30 feet if left unpruned but manageable smaller with regular pruning. Ripens late summer into fall. The red-blushed skin makes it somewhat less attractive to pests than green-skinned atemoyas.
