White Sapote
Denzler
History
A widely grown named selection of white sapote (Casimiroa edulis), a fruit native to Central America and, despite the name, only a distant botanical relative of citrus.
Taste profile
Smooth, buttery flesh with a flavor often compared to vanilla custard, with notes of banana, peach, and almond.
Growing habits
Standard white sapote care - subtropical to tropical, drought-tolerant once established.
Shipping
Does not ship well. Very soft when ripe and best eaten fresh. Important: white sapote seeds are toxic and should never be eaten.
