History
The first citrus cultivar released solely by University of Florida breeders, developed over more than 20 years starting in 1985 by plant breeder Fred Gmitter, a cross of Clementine and Minneola tangelo. Released commercially around 2009.
Taste profile
A deep, complex sweet-tart flavor that growers and tasters have compared to a fine wine - intensely sweet with a tangy backbone and strong aroma, often called one of the best-tasting citrus varieties available.
Growing habits
A vigorous, upright tree. Ripens earlier than Minneola, typically late November into early January, timed for the winter holiday market.
