A Hass-type selection, larger-fruited than standard Hass, that has become popular specifically as a Type A pollinator paired with Florida's Type B cultivars.
Taste profile
Deep, rich, nutty flavor with a buttery, creamy, high-oil texture nearly identical to standard Hass, just in a larger fruit with a longer shelf life.
Growing habits
Type A flowering - female flowers open in the morning, useful for cross-pollinating with Type B varieties like Monroe, Brogden, and Oro Negro. Harvest runs roughly September-October.
Shipping
Ships reasonably well. Thicker skin than most Florida types gives it a notably longer shelf life, closer to standard Hass.
